The AirPods 3 apparently look like the AirPods Pro. The new Apple headphones will most likely be released in September together with the new iPhone.

According to several leaks, it’s obvious that the new Apple AirPods 3 are designed after the AirPods Pro. The release date of the new Apple headset was unknown until now.

According to DigiTimes, reliable sources hint at a launch of Apple AirPods 3 in September. Apple has neither confirmed nor denied this information. At first, the launch of AirPods 3 was suspected to be in the first half of this year, these rumours turned out to be false.

More rumours indicate that the new iPhone 13 will also be launched as early as September. Traditionally, Apple introduces new hardware in October and November. It remains exciting whether Apple will actually deviate from this.

What do we know about the AirPods 3?

The last AirPods, the AirPods 2nd Gen, came out two years ago – so quite a long time ago. The new AirPods 3 are said to feature shorter legs, just like the Pro version. The case is apparently more compact and new sensors have been installed in the headphones.

These new sensors could be used to record fitness and health functions. These could function as an add-on to the Apple Watch.

No ANC, but Lossless Audio on Apple Music

It has been known for quite some time that the AirPods 3, like their predecessors and in contrast to the Pro version, won’t be equipped with active noise cancelling. But they’re supposed to get a new chip that supports Lossless Audio for Apple Music. However, it’s not clear how lossless transmission is possible via Bluetooth.

Testing devices and gadgets is my thing. Some experiments lead to interesting insights, others to demolished phones. I’m hooked on series and can’t imagine life without Netflix. In summer, you’ll find me soaking up the sun by the lake or at a music festival.
