Super processor with a decent cooler that can be used for light OC. For "real" OC at low noise levels, of course, something better is needed.
However, the processor still works best in mixed single/multicore operation with the Auto-OC, which also benefits from a good cooler (here approx. 4GHz all-core boost with Noctua NH-D15S).
Gaming performance is not much behind Intel's 6/7/8700K, but as soon as it comes to productivity, the 2700X pulls ahead. Future games will probably benefit more.
At the time of this comment, probably due to demand, unfortunately abouta expensive.

In my opinion, the upgrade from the 1700x was worth it. After a bios update of the Asus ROG Hero Vi, everything worked wonderfully. I've managed to keep the processor stable up to 4,200GHz with OC. I think I now have a good platform for two to three years.
