I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S7, before that I had an iPhone 6. Now I wanted an iPhone again. After a long decision-making process, I chose the XR over the XS.
I like it better with the aluminium frame and the blue colour, plus it has the optimal size and a battery life that lasts me for 3 days at times! The LCD screen instead of an OLED (XS) doesn't bother me in the slightest, as it's excellent. Of course, when watching videos with a black border, you notice that the black of the screen is brighter than the black of the "notch".
All in all, the iPhone XS was ultimately also a bit too glamorous, too aloof, too shiny for me. The iPhone XR is an iPhone as I know it from the iPhones 4, 5 and 6, but much better, faster and with a new design. For me personally, it was the right choice.

I thought a lot about the XR before I got it. I didn't know whether the "worse" display compared to the XS or the thicker display edges would bother me. In everyday life, I have to say that it didn't bother me for a second. The display is simply top. Why do I need perfect black levels on a smartphone? I came from the iPhone 6 and have not regretted the purchase at all. For me, the XS, which is a lot more expensive, makes no sense.

It's certainly not bad, but after my iPhone 7, the XR feels like a dead beat, it seems so big and heavy. Why they built it that way is beyond me. Apple, try lighter
