I was blown away when I first heard the little thing (about the size of a UE Roll). The sound is very grown-up with incredible deep but not exaggerated bass, and in terms of volume, the A1 can roughly compete with a UE Megaboom, although it sounds better than the UE speaker. However, I have to say that the JBL Charge 3 offers better value for money with a larger battery (20 instead of 8 hours runtime at 50% volume) and complete waterproofing. Only the treble sounds a little clearer than on the Charge 3, but the difference is marginal. In terms of volume, both are about the same.

Superb sound, superb design, very convenient size.
Unfortunately it stops every now and then, after 15-20 minutes or one hour, once even after 5 minutes. Would you buy a car that stops every 80 km, and have to restart it? I have returned the A1 to B&O and they immediately sent me another, saying that they have identified a defect covered by the warranty. The new model shows that same symptoms. I do believe that this is a general defect for the model A1. I doesn't want that they keep on sending me yet another faulty device. Very sad, as I don't know with what to replace it. My FIIO X5 and Sony radio don't have Bluetooth. So I need to connect with a cable.

Well, it was very hyped. It's a good speaker but has its own peculiarities. Update breaks off, but when the battery is empty it is really empty - can no longer be used out loud when plugged in. Charging time is enormous despite the included cable and powerful charger. I think a lot of money was spent to get a few good reviews on the net.
