    Unfortunately Biosraid ("Fake" Raid) and unfortunately only usable with Linux as Softraid mdadm.

    Under Linux, the above-mentioned controller, which certainly works very reliably (and according to the user manual also has a very good bios), can only be used as a single satellite controller per disc. The reason for this is the Softraid problem, which does not allow the OS to present only one disk as an AHCI device (as is possible under Windows with special drivers).
    Under Linux, one should therefore only operate the controller without Raid and realise e.g. Raid1 with mdadm.
    Of course, the extra price for this is wasted.
    It's a good thing I found this out at Dawie customer service before unpacking, but to save others from having to do that, here's this review. The rating refers to its suitability as a raid card under Linux and not to the hardware quality or its use under Windows. Customer service was impeccable.
    Galaxus was accommodating and the return was hassle-free, thank you for that.

    Flawless

    Solid controller with really good competent hotline, affordable and easy to handle, technically solid - my standard controller in the RAID area.

    • fast delivery, good price, technically flawless and professional processing/handling

    • Only for "conventional" disks/SSD, unfortunately not suitable for M.2

    RAID controller

    Need the controller as storage - expansion of 4 more discs.

    The Raid function is easy to program.
    RAID 10 is also supported thanks to 4 disks.
    Cool.

    To build such a cheap, 'safe' NAS on the basis of a PC, why not?
    With     an older PC? Plus 4 identical disks...?
    You can do that, but I prefer a NAS with 4 WDs.
