    Pleasantly surprised

    I wasn't expecting much from Elgato, a brand that is very much aimed at streamers and content creators, and I bought this mic on sale. I was pleased to find that the sound was excellent and that the Wave 3 was packed with interesting little features. The 'Wave Link' software allows you to configure all your computer's sound outputs.
    Warning to uninformed users: this is a condenser microphone, which will pick up all the little noises in the room. You can use the software to attenuate these noises, but if you want to use this microphone in a noisy environment, it may not be for you.

    Elgato quality

    Pro

    • A very good quality microphone
    • Good noise suppression
    • Precise gain control, even more so with the WaveLink application
    • Headphones can be plugged into the jack and the volume can be adjusted directly on the microphone
    • Good noise cancellation
    • Connects via USB-C and comes with a fairly long cable

    Contra

    • Quite expensive accessories, but dispensable for the most part
