Small gap to the old Vive, only recommended for simulation enthusiasts with the necessary change in their wallets.

I don't even know where to start. The Vive Pro is probably the best VR package you can buy right now. And with that said, it's still a pretty poor VR experience for mere mortals. The resolution is still far, far from being truly usable. Field of view still incredibly small, hence "window" effect kicking in. Mass ghosting and flickering, blurriness in the periphery because the optics are qualitatively at the limit and an unusable integrated audio (yes, ALSO for non-audiophiles). Would I therefore not buy it again? Yes, I would, because I am quite ambitious hobby sim racer and lap times with a VR system are easily 1 second faster, because better spatial awareness and speed feeling. I.e. But also that the effective target audience for the Vive Pro is incredibly small: that leaves flight sim geeks and sim racers. Way too poor resolution for shooters, way too expensive for casual gamers.
The gap with the original Vive is smaller than I expected. Yes, it's overall sharper and texts a bit more readable, still far from acceptably good. Then again, HTC's pricing policy is another issue. Selling the old Vive (only the headset) is practically impossible, because the sensors and controllers alone cost as much as the entire package of the old Vive (!!).
On top of that, the Pro needs significantly more processing power again. With an i7 6700 Sli-2x-1080 system, I still have trouble getting various titles to run smoothly even in medium details, meaning >90fps.

    • Audio for the ton, fortunately you can unscrew it
    • Ghosting, window effect
    • resolution still too low -> increase it again, then it's enough
    • Hardware hunger very high
    • Nothing for casual gamers

would buy it again, but wait until the price drops a little, currently too expensive.

Resolution is a step up, audio I prefer my headset, more comfortable and lighter than version 1

Not worth the money for the average person, ok for enthusiasts

Most expensive but also best VR headset

    Pro

    • higher resolution
    • very comfortable

    Contra

    • Headphones don't fit my ears = canned sound (too far away, too little pressure on the ears)
    • Two booze on the left display
    • Much too expensive for the relatively small upgrade
