    Finally affordable and powerful 6 core / 12 threads!

    A must have for the amateurs. Thanks to Digitec for being able to sell me one on the day of the launch!

    • Quick
    • Consumption and temperatures rather well controlled.
    • Outperforms the 7700k in the game, especially those that are multicore optimised.
    • Explodes previous generations into multithreading.
    • Unlocked. Stable and good temp at 5 GHz with Corsair H115i.
    • Finally a real evolution at Intel. Relatively affordable price.

    Contra

    • Not compatible with z 170 or 270.
    • Very limited availability.

    Probably the best choice for games at the moment. For multicore applications and calculations, Ryzen is better suited.

    I am satisfied

    Top CPU which can be recommended if budget is not an issue. I am satisfied with the first few tests. I will look at overclocking next week and see what is possible.
