    Blazing performance, for a price...

I've been trying various high performance M.2 SSDs and while newer models always improve in synthetic performance measurements, the day-to-day snappiness did't really change.

Not so with the 900p, it's immediately obvious
that everything loads much faster compared to my previous Samsung M.2 SSD. Moving data sets with lots of small files (e.g. source code) is vastly improved too.

It is also important to install it in a PCI-E 3.0 x4 slot connected to the CPU and not the chipset as the main feature of the 900p is low latency which would be sub-optimal if shared with other devices. X99, X299, X399 platforms are the best options.

    Pro

    • Speedy application loading times
    • Reasonable capacity
    • High wear resistance compared to traditional SSDs

    Contra

    • Poor GB/$$$ ratio
    • Requires PCI-E 3.0 x4 slot directly to the CPU for full performance

    Recommended

Super fast, but above all also bought because permanent use as a system drive should not be a problem.

    Pro

    • Quick
    • Very well suited as an OS plate

    Contra

    • Gets very hot, must be well ventilated or possibly install a water cooler.

    Fast, good... a bit expensive.

Easy to install, runs under Linux Ubuntu, I could not make individual settings. However, the system runs well and reliably.
