The lens I should have bought much earlier! For a long time I was undecided between the 2.8 version and the 4 70-200 mm for my D750. In the end, not only the price but also the weight was the deciding factor. And it was definitely the right decision: the image quality is really outstanding, the sharpness already at f/4 up to the corners excellent, from f/5.6 perfect. The handling is also perfect: no change in length either when zooming or focusing, plus butter-smooth and precise adjustment of distance and zoom. Qualitatively top class. The fact that the tripod clamp is not included in the standard scope of delivery does not bother me: on the one hand, the lens is so light that the camera is not yet as top-heavy as with the 2.8, on the other hand, I would buy a separate clamp with Arca Swiss - compatible foot anyway. The focal length range is perfect, classic of course, but optimal for events and weddings (in my case).

Top optical performance with moderate weight. Sharp right into the corners at open aperture (FX). Good alternative to the 70-200/2.8, which is a bit heavy.
On DX, higher contrast and a touch sharper than the 70-300/4.5-5.6 at the same focal length and offers a whole aperture more light.

Best quality! Both the sharpness, even at f/4, and the handling are convincing! If you don't need aperture 2.8, you are well advised to use this lens.
