Why lug around a micromac and fret about battery life when all you need is a phone and an emergency camera.

A cheerful minimal phone with a standby time of over two weeks and the licence to slow down.

A good thing as a 4G modem and certainly a good alternative to an expensive smartphone for situations where the phone is at risk of being stolen.

After Kai OS and the Appstore have been advertised relatively widely, it is somewhat disappointing that there are a few games, a weather app and Twitter available in the store, but nothing else. This is despite the fact that there is actually more in the store, for Europe/Switzerland, but apparently it is no longer released. The standby time of 17 days is a pretty exciting claim. My phone ran out of battery within two days with the mobile network switched off and WLAN deactivated. I would very much like to know under which conditions the 17 days are calculated...

    Pro

    • Classic design
    • No accidental calls possible as long as slid shut
    • Good voice quality

    Contra

    • Standby time far from tech. Spec.
    • App Store almost empty

You can get the 8110 out of the jungle, but you can't get the jungle out of the 8110.

It's a pity that Nokia, when it goes to the trouble of releasing such an "iconic" device, doesn't equip it with usable software. Considering that smartphones are becoming more and more sophisticated in their operation, I notice the opposite tendency for mobile phones with keyboards. Annoying

    Pro

    • Striking design

    Contra

    • Catastrophic software
    • one often catches several buttons on the keyboard
