    Could have been so great...

Actually a great product - were it not for the many small defects.

My delivery in July was delayed by Samsung by a month, because of quality problems. One month later the monitor was delivered. What exactly Samsung did during
this time is probably their secret. The monitors that were delivered later, besides a production date in May/June, all still had the known problem with the light gap. Thus, Samsung seems to have decided after the recall to release these unchanged back into the trade. A big middle finger from Samsung to their customers.

The models that were produced from August onwards no longer seem to have the problem with the light gap. However, as of October, models produced in June and July are still being sold. You can find the production date in the serial number. At the 8th position you will find an "N", which stands for 2020. In the 9th position you will find a number: 5 stands for May, 6 for June, 7 for July, etc.

Unfortunately, mine has dirt behind the panel, which covers 5 pixels (see pictures).

One thing to note is that if you have a problem (even with DOA) you are completely on your own, Digitec will help you just enough to let you know where to send the monitor for repair. You will have to take care of the return transport of the bulky goods (+ transport costs) yourself.

The monitor is currently "alternativeless" in its kind. If you're not in a hurry, I would recommend waiting for a hopefully more mature successor model. If you can't wait, you'll have to put up with the listed negative points.

Attention: To use 240 Hz you need a newer GPU (Nvidia 2000'er and 3000'er series or newer Radeon models). The GPU must support Displayport 1.4 with DSC. The keyword here is DSC, a compression method, because the bandwidth of DP 1.4 is not sufficient for 240 Hz alone.

    Pro

    • Great bending radius
    • 240 Hz
    • Fast response times
    • Good OSD
    • Good picture quality (with Windows HDR off)
    • Audio out (3.5mm)
    • Gsync & Freesync
    • Ingenious for home office
    • No annoying noise (e.g. power supply)
    • Well packaged, CH power plug included

    Contra

    • No HDMI 2.1 & Display Port 2.0
    • Tlws. flickering at 240 Hz
    • Light-Bleeding
    • Only 10 local dimming zones for HDR (Samsung TVs have around 500)
    • Dust between panel + glass obscures pixels (for me, not generally - see photos)
    • Only 60 Hz with PiP / PbP -> From firmware 1006.2 120 Hz.
    • Only max. 120 Hz with multi-monitor operation
    • No KVM features
    • Meaningless RGB lighting (no dynamic control)
    • Windows HDR bleaches the picture completely (-> switch off!)
    • Dual USB hub only on the back (behind closed panel)
    • Bending not complete (stops abruptly 16cm before the respective end left + right)
    • Monitor wobbles (e.g. when typing)
    • Turning off awkward (via OSD)
    • Doubtful HDR implementation
    • Glossy plastic of the backside looks rather cheap (front tip top)
    • Digitec leaves the customer in the lurch or on their own in case of problems.
    • Latest firmwares only on Samsung Korea website in Korean
    • Note: Buyers with RTX3000 must update to firmware 1008.1 or higher
    • Note: Radeon 6000'er GPU run with 240 Hz starting with AMD driver 21.1.1

    Excellent

The picture quality coupled with the high hz and wide picture is really fun!

For all you sim racers, perfect screen for this. Gave up my Triples. Settings Iracing: 401mm monitor width, Triples, 13 degree correction and 60cm
screen distance gives me the perfect experience (FOV 100). 115 - 160 FPS with 2080 TI.

Addendum 08.09.: Now I also have a problem with the screen: At the upper left edge, the screen detaches from the edge. This causes light to leak out, it shimmers a bit. If you sit in front of the screen, this is not noticeable. I'm now waiting to see if this gets worse or not, depending on which goes back.

    great screen with quality mengeln

Great monitor for the price the picture is brilliant but I will have to think about whether I will keep it or not, because for the price of 1660fr such quality defects should not be present.
I thought that Digitec had already
postponed the delivery date by two weeks so that I would receive one of the models reviewed by Samsung.

    Pro

    • great resolution
    • Beautiful display

    Contra

    • light leaks from the upper left edge
    • have a dead pixel in the middle
