    Wow!

    -- Sound --
    The unit has the sound of a full-size hi-fi system. With your eyes closed in the room, you would hardly notice the difference. Really outstanding!

    I own the play:1, the play:3, the playbar and the new play:5,     and I've already had the opportunity to test the amp and the old play:5 extensively. In comparison, the Playbar comes closest to the new play:5, but it's not on a par with it, especially in the bass range. The new play:5 clearly stands out from the other Sonos products.


    -- new touch controls --
    Super! a little less easy to use in the dark, but otherwise perfect. Especially the possibility to switch back and forth directly on the device is convenient.

    -- Sonos system --
    Really good. Only the dependence on stream providers is a bit of a shame. Since it is not an open architecture, one remains bound to the Sonos software and products.

    Spotify only works with a premium account. The integration of iTunes works, but it is somewhat cumbersome and above all unreliable. As a computer scientist, this is not a problem, but a person with moderate IT knowledge will have a hard time with the folder sharing.

    -- Integration in WLAN --
    For some time now, the components can be operated in their own WLAN network. I have tried both versions and am equally satisfied with both.

    The advantage of the WLAN variant is that NO device has to be connected by cable.

    With the Sonos mesh method, a device is connected to the local network with a cable. You don't need a bridge, because any Sonos player can do this. The bridge is only needed if none of the devices are located in a place with the possibility of a cable connection.

    never had such a good box, the 600 fr is worth it even with the apprentice's wage.

    Good

    The system is great. Unfortunately, acoustically it is a downgrade compared to the hi-fi speakers I used before. However, I can access music from my network storage much more easily and also access all the music services from the internet.

    All in all: highly recommended.
