  Small, powerful but loud

  In our new laundry room there is a 19" rack with a switch for the Ethernet sockets in all rooms. So it was obvious to install the new server there. Apart from performance, noise was an important selection criterion. I thought this computer would be quiet. Far from it. At the beginning, the fan was always running at maximum speed. I had to install a script myself to control the fan speed (github.com/petersulyok/smfc/). But it is still loud.
  Apart from that, the computer runs well and has enough power reserves. more
