Product details
The Serbian capital Belgrade serves as the starting point for a critical urban research within which counter-hegemonic narratives and realities are negotiated, which are faded out in favour of the currently prevailing neoliberal consensus. Different mechanisms of the production of identities by means of architectural and urban planning measures are examined, which can be observed across all the epochs of Belgrade's planning policy under consideration. The concrete places in Old and New Belgrade that stand out particularly due to their radical transformation are referred to as radical edges. Radical because they could (could) be starting points for radical democratic (urban) politics. Margins because they are located on the edge or outside the hegemonic order of the city and do not (yet) correspond to any idea of the neoliberal order.
