Product details

The seventh volume of the Eichstätter Schriften zum kirchlichen Arbeitsrecht (Eichstätter Papers on Church Labour Law) documents the lectures of the 24th symposium on church labour law, which took place digitally on 7 March 2022 on the topic of "How solidary is church labour law? The topic is highly topical due to the #OutInChurch initiative, which publicly spoke out in January 2022 after the Munich abuse report became known. The demand for a change in the Basic Order, especially the discriminatory threat of dismissal for pastoral employees who enter into a same-sex marriage or a marriage that is invalid under church law, has overshadowed many topics. In addition, on the occasion of 50 years of the MAVO Framework Order and 30 years of the MVG-EKD, questions of co-determination in the workplace were critically questioned as to how solidary church labour law is. More co-determination is demanded. Digitalisation is seen as a challenge for solidarity. The solidarity of church labour law regulation in the Third Way and collective bargaining law were also discussed. The solidarity of church labour law is shown: - in a respectful treatment of employees, which above all excludes dismissal for entering into a marriage that is invalid under church law, - in better co-determination in the workplace, which values the importance of employees for the fulfilment of the mission of the church, - in an implementation of the church's labour law in the Third Way and in collective bargaining law.on the implementation of digitalisation that does justice to the community of service, and - on church employment contract regulations that serve as a model through fair working conditions that take into account family friendliness, health protection and work overload.
