The book "Insect Pollination Studies on Pumpkin" by Lalita Panwar offers a comprehensive investigation of the pollinator insects involved in the pollination of two pumpkin varieties, C-1076 and C-1106. The study was conducted at CCS Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar and documents the diversity of insect species visiting the pumpkin flowers. A total of 42 insect species were identified, including various Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, Orthoptera, and Coleoptera. Notably, four species of honeybees were identified as the most common pollinators. The results indicate that the activity of these pollinators is maximized at specific times during the day, providing important insights for agriculture and pollination ecology.
