Cahier is the notebook from Moleskine with a sturdy cover and visible thread stitching. It features 64 pages, with the last 16 being detachable. The paper is acid-free, and the cover includes a wide pocket for loose sheets. The Cahier is sold as a set of three and is available in various colors and sizes. The name is attributed to the British writer Bruce Chatwin, who preferred the simple black notebooks from a French paper manufacturer in Tours for his work and affectionately called them Moleskin. In 1997, the anonymous notebook, which had carried sketches and stories from many artists and intellectuals, was revived by a Milanese publisher. He chose the literature-inspired name Moleskine.
