Low-dimensional structures restrict the movement of charge carriers in the conduction band and valence band in all three spatial directions. The confinement of charge particles leads to a promising change in their physical, chemical, electrical, mechanical, and optical properties. In this book, we focus on the green synthesis of fluorescent, low-dimensional carbon for white light emission and sensing applications. Green synthesis techniques were employed for the synthesis of optically active carbon. The selective detection of metal nanoparticles and the use of highly fluorescent carbon are also described in this book as a student approach.
