The Aeotec switching insert enables the retrofitting of a standard light installation to convert it into an intelligent Smart Home component with Z-Wave radio. This makes it possible to switch and dim
a connected consumer both wirelessly via Z-Wave and locally using a traditional wall switch. The device is placed in a wall socket directly behind the conventional switch already located there. The switch no longer switches the consumer directly, but only supplies a control signal to the Aeotec device, which in turn controls the consumer.
