The Yip Yips, also known as "Martians," are the curious extraterrestrials from Sesame Street who are constantly fascinated by the most ordinary things and want to find out what they are for with lots of "yip yip."

The costume has no buttons or other fasteners; it simply slips on like a sack. The inside of the head is shaped like a cap, so the costume doesn't shift easily. The black mesh mouth opening provides a good view outside. The Yip Yips' "lower lip" is thickened, allowing it to be moved up and down with the hands to create funny expressions. The costume features hidden side slits through which the arms can be inserted. The antennas next to the large eyes can also be bent like pipe cleaners.
