With the newly designed model of the rail bus VT 2.09 from the Deutsche Reichsbahn, PIKO meets a frequently expressed wish of many model railway enthusiasts for a contemporary, detailed, and operationally suitable version of the well-known "Ferkeltaxe." Following the development of the innovative control logic for the DB rail bus, for which PIKO received the Golden Track award in 2017, it makes sense to now lovingly implement the widely used counterpart from East Germany with a corresponding logic. The railcar is powered by a strong miniature motor, equipped with flywheels to ensure excellent running characteristics, and features a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimal driving performance without sound interruptions. The drive affects both axles of the railcar. The driving and control cars can be coupled together using a current-conducting short coupling mechanism. The lighting functions of both vehicles can be switched separately.
