The Calliope mini is a microcontroller designed as an educational tool for children from the third grade, typically under adult supervision. The Calliope mini demonstrates that everyone can code – and have a lot of fun doing it. The entry point is simple, allowing children, teachers, and parents to get started without prior knowledge. From the first self-programmed blinking light to self-driving robots and wireless communicating Calliope mini swarms: with just a few clicks, users can design their own programs for the microprocessor on a connected computer, bringing the Calliope mini to life.

In addition to 25 red LEDs, one RGB LED, and two programmable buttons, the board includes a combined position sensor with a motion sensor and compass, as well as a radio module that enables the Calliope mini to communicate with other Calliope minis. The board can be programmed via a laptop or computer using free editors, such as Open Roberta Lab from the Fraunhofer Society. Programs created by users can also be transferred wirelessly via an app. The board comes with five pre-installed starter programs – and 25 additional ones on the flash memory – with instructions provided in a small accompanying booklet. Additionally, a battery holder with high-quality batteries and a USB cable for connecting to the computer are included.

The Calliope mini Starter Box includes a board along with accessories: - Battery holder with batteries - USB cable - Booklet for the first computer-independent applications and one with programming examples - Rubber band (for securing the battery compartment) - Stickers. Plug it in and measure air quality! With the Calliope mini CO2 Sensor-SCD40, the Calliope mini becomes a CO2 traffic light. Simply connect it and measure the CO2 levels, temperature, and humidity.
