The drum can be played with mallets or fingers, and its tuning to D Kurd creates a mystical and dreamy sound. The bass note D3 is surrounded by eight other notes. A sound hole at the bottom can be closed with a silicone plug for a compact sound or opened for a long-lasting reverberation. Three silicone feet provide stability and prevent slipping.

Additionally, the HPS handpan stand is suitable for all standard handpans and steel tongue drums. It is made of black powder-coated steel with a sturdy construction and double braced design. The playing angle is adjustable, and it features rubberized pads. The height is adjustable from 72 to 100 cm (28 to 39 inches) and weighs 5.5 kg.

The keepdrum mallets soft are included, featuring a pair with a soft hardness that produces a warm sound. Each mallet has an overall length of 38 cm and a head diameter of 35 mm. The wooden handles are 35 cm long with an 11 mm diameter, well balanced, and feature thread winding under the heads. Each mallet weighs 30 g.
