The NT4 from Rode is a stereo microphone featuring two microphone capsules arranged in an X/Y configuration. This microphone does not require an additional microphone for stereo recording. The built-in 1/2" condenser capsules with a cardioid pattern are positioned at a 90-degree angle to each other, creating a wide stereo image. The NT4 is suitable for recordings with a choir, percussion, as an overhead for drums, or for soundscapes. To operate the NT4, a 9V battery or phantom power is needed to supply the microphone with power. The package includes an XLR cable and a 3.5 mm jack cable, both in stereo. With these connection options, the microphone can be used very flexibly, for example, on cameras.
