With the high resolution of 12 bit singleturn and 12 bit +18 bit multiturn, the WDGA series is ideal for applications in which high measuring accuracy is important in addition to mechanical robustness. The interface provides the complete position value for evaluation, consisting of the combination of the singleturn position with the corresponding multiturn position based on the number of revolutions. Despite the enormous resolution, the maintenance-free encoder does not require gears or a buffer battery. This guarantees a long service life of the mechanics and protects the environment. With its extremely high bearing loads of up to 220 N radial and 120 N axial, it works reliably and accurately for years.

The WDGA absolute encoders are equipped with a two-colour LED (red/green). By means of differentiated colour changes and
different flashing frequencies, important status signals can be read directly from the LED. This makes it quick and easy to integrate the WDGA absolute encoders into the existing CAN bus topology, for example.

Functional principle of the EnDra® technology:
In order to detect the number of revolutions and the direction of rotation, the WDGA encoders do not require a mechanical gear. Instead, the revolutions are determined with an energy wire (EnDra). A permanent magnet accumulates enough energy in the wire that the information "revolution" and "direction of rotation" is transmitted to the evaluation electronics at a defined position. An external energy supply, e.g. via battery, is not required for this. Thus, the patented system works absolutely self-sufficiently.
