Mine has been going strong for more than 6 months now and no issues. I use a dust/dirt protection when not charging. Like others have said, contact Garmin for warranty.

I've had mine for about 2 months and it's worked perfectly so far. Maybe a production error? I would contact Garmin directly.

Hm.. mine still works well after more than 1y.
