Do I understand correctly that the maximum magnification of 1:2 is only achieved at 18mm, i.e. when the lens is moved to within 5mm of the object to be photographed? (cf. https://www.fotointern.ch/archiv/2021/08/26/tamron-18-300mm-27-450mm-reisezoom-mit-sony-e-mount-fuer-aps-c-kameras/) That's more of a joke then...
