I own a Legria HFR 206, possibly a predecessor model of your camcorder. The attachment works perfectly here. You attach a small plate to the camcorder and use the threaded socket. This plate allows you to quickly fix or remove the camcorder from the tripod. The plate should be attached at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the camera. This makes it easy to change the battery.
