Hello all, Does this thing work to connect an HP docking station with USB-C output to the HDMI port of my Acer Aspire 7 notebook? The notebook has a USB-C output, but it does not recognise the docking station. So my idea is to connect the docking station with the USB-C output to the HDMI port of the laptop via this adapter. Will this work?

No, that does not work. The USB-C output on the Acer notebook is only suitable for data transfers, it does not provide any image information. There are docking solutions that use DisplayLink technology, which means that screens can also be controlled via USB 3.0. A docking station that supports USB-A should then be able to do this.
