Helpful answer

hello, your camera has an ef mount, as does the lens. so that fits.
the camera has an aps-c sensor, which means a crop factor of 1.6.
in terms of focal length, the lens is therefore not like a 150-600 but like a 240-960...

I don't know myself....but I entered your text into KI-Tool Copilot and received the following response:
Without guarantee
Yes, the Sigma 150-600mm lens can be used with your Canon EOS 2000D (aka Rebel T7) as long as you buy the version with the Canon EF mount12. The Canon EOS 2000D uses the EF-S bayonet, which supports both EF and EF-S lenses23.
When purchasing, make sure that the lens is specifically designed for the Canon EF mount to avoid compatibility issues1.
Have fun taking pictures! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you have an EF bayonet for lenses on your EOS2000, it will work perfectly. I had this lens on various EOS Kaneras with EF mount, today even with EOS-R and RF bayonet (here with adapter). It always worked perfectly.

Basically it is compatible if you have the Canon mount on the Sigma lens.
One question you have to ask yourself is that the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM [C] (Canon EF, Canon EF-S, full frame) is in a completely different class to the EF-S 18-55mm IS II. If you want to spend the money on it, the Sigma is a very good lens. However, I use it for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. My consideration is always whether it makes sense to combine the two unequal classes. Because the camera must also be able to fully process the data supplied by the lens. But if it is okay for you, then buy this Sigma lens. I have only had good experiences.

The Canon EOS 2000D has an EF-S mount. The lens is EF / EF-S compatible. So yes, both are compatible.
