I bought the SATECHI USB-C Stand & Hub for my Mac Mini M1. I installed the Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD recommended by Satechi. Unfortunately, I cannot use the SSD! The SSD is visible in Disk Utility but cannot be activated. SSD always disappears for a short time in the overview. When I try to activate the SSD, I always get an error message. Does anyone know this problem? If so, is there a solution? (I suspect that the supply voltage to the hub with the SSD is too low).

Update from SATECHI support:
Satechi seems to be aware of the problem. They are currently looking for a solution.

It would be interesting to see if this hub will soon be available for the new Mac Mini, which is much smaller.
At the moment I have been using this hub for a long time on two MiniMacs and it works very well.

Now there is to be a V2 with NVME SSD support.
When will Digitec be adding this to its range?

The hub only works with SATA M2 SSDs, Adata Ultimate SU650 works wonderfully.

I still have to test the speed.

I have 2 of these hubs here, one ordered privately which doesn't work, and today received one ordered by my employer and it does work.

Answer from Satechi Support:

"We understand that you are having a mounting issue when installing an SSD into your hub. We have been informed of this issue and the developers have provided us with updated versions of the SSD hub stand to send out as replacements for those experiencing issues."

The working hub has the serial number: 000000075524 under VLI Product String:.
The defective hub shows a serial number: 00000000006200

So far I have not received any confirmation from Satechi that a new hub will be sent to me.

As I found out yesterday from Digitec, they don't know anything about this problem, nor was Digitec informed about it by the supplier/manufacturer.

It would be interesting to know which serial number is displayed for the other users.

Problem still exists.
Purchased 24.01.2022 I use a WD Blue 3D 1TB M.2 as SSD which should work according to the manufacturer:

Oh yes...the working hub shows a write/read performance of a ridiculous 340MBytes/sec.....
A normal USB-C/M2 Sata adapter brings it to 540MBytes/sec with the Evo 860, as it should be...
