The product works perfectly when the laptop is open. However, as soon as I close my MBP 2018 16" and only want to run my two monitors, I lose the connection to the motors from about 3-5 seconds and they go into sleep mode. What could be the problem? Thanks for the feedback.

Clamshell / closed lid mode is currently no longer supported for macs.

"Under the hood" buys software from displaylink (https://www.displaylink.com/) for this dock. For configuration on the mac and other features, you can install their drivers: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads... . Displaylink is also currently working on further development so that the calmshell mode will work again: https://support.displaylink.com/forums...

A little tip: if you haven't installed mac os big sur yet, you can install the legacy driver, where the clamshell mode might still work on your macbook (see "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS" in the legacy section of displaylink's downloads).

I think it's more likely the settings of the notebook. Check the energy saving settings to see what happens when you close the lid and connect the power (had this with windows once, don't know much about macs).
