They achieve their antique-like surface through an oil-based glaze, which is refined with lacquer after firing. Whether used as an umbrella stand or as a decorative solitaire, Sansibar adds a striking ethnocultural accent. The high-fired vessel is not waterproof due to the material-specific sweating at the bottom. It is advisable to use an insert or a saucer on more delicate floors or surfaces to avoid moisture marks. Sansibar is not frost-resistant.
