The glue is included and it is waterproof. Very good hold.
I glued it, then had to remove it because of the conversion...there is definitely no residue. However, screwing it on is always the more stable option.

is glued - but for a secure hold, it is advised to fix the holder with 2 screws (absolutely necessary if the background is not smooth). However, I will only glue it - I have had good experiences with other Simplehuman products.

If you want, you can hang them in the kitchen and have honey on the left and yoghurt on the right. All joking aside, yes, you can do that with soap and disinfectant. As long as what you put in is liquid.
