No, the shelf is not prepared for this. It might be possible to tinker with it by removing the end caps. However, the whole thing would be too tippy for me. Without fixing it to the wall, it would be too unstable.

Yes, that is possible in principle. However, more than 2 in total would probably be somewhat detrimental to stability.
