Poor lighting conditions, over-fertilization, or an excess of nutrients can have negative effects on aquarium water and promote algae growth. Suspended algae lead to green water, while bacteria cause whitish cloudiness. The water clarifier eliminates cloudiness caused by bacteria and suspended algae. The aquarium water is channeled through the stable, UV-resistant housing of the clarifier. The UV-C radiation kills the bacteria, other pathogens, and suspended algae in the flowing water. The efficiency of this UV-C water clarifier is particularly high, as the glass bulb is surrounded by a polished, reflective stainless steel foil that reflects the UV-C radiation, effectively doubling its efficiency. This can also have positive effects on the removal of stubborn algae, such as filamentous algae, as their spores are largely killed as well. There are no harmful side effects, no changes to water parameters, and no negative impacts on important cleaning bacteria in the filter.

Installation is simple; the water clarifier can be connected to an external filter or a separate water pump. With the included 90° angle, any desired installation position can be achieved. The UV-C water clarifier features a safety switch for automatic shutdown when the device is opened. The housing has UV-resistant and stable walls and includes an LED lamp that indicates whether the UV-C burner is functioning.
