I have been using the Litter Robot 4 for about 5 weeks now and I think it's great. As we work and can only clean the litter trays in the morning and evening (2 Norw. Forest cats), this is very tedious with 2 litter trays. Now that's a thing of the past. After a cat has done its business, the cleaning process starts and when it's finished, the litter tray is clean again. Our two cats find the cleaning process very interesting and they always have to look in. Then it switches off and waits, when the cats have gone again, it continues to run, you stick your head back in to look, it switches off again, this currently happens up to 5 times until it is really finished cleaning. This is shown in the app. Our cats are very curious and so the switch from the normal litter tray to this one went without a hitch and was used on the same day. I left the old litter tray for another week, it was used once more, but not after that. He recognises the cats by their weight. As the cat is quite a bit bigger, it works very well for us. What could be a problem is if a cat is ill, has a urinary tract disease or has difficulty doing its business. If you clean the litter tray yourself, you know over time who does what or not. This may need to be considered before purchasing. Unfortunately, we had to replace our wooden pellets with cat litter made of "sand" (I personally don't like it that much), the pellets don't go through the sieve. Maybe try the clump-forming wood litter to see if it gets through the sieve or if too much litter is lost. You can always see on the app whether there is still enough litter or whether it needs to be topped up; the wood litter may also be too light. But be careful, if you empty too much litter into it, not all of it will find its way into the designated collection container during cleaning and the clean but excess litter will then be emptied into the waste container.

Known problem is a tear inside the globe after cats scratching it. Whisker have a replacement globe that can be purchased (under warranty) for their markets but if purchased via Galaxus you need to send it back to them for inspection first, possible repair and then resent (or new delivered). This means an alternative litter box needs to be installed for an undetermined period. Very ineffective for a known problem where a replacement globe could just be sent. While I do recommend then Litter-Robot then I would not buy this again.
If the repair process had worked I would have given 5 stars.

Our cat is curious and was on the new toilet even before it was ready. So the old one was removed straight away. Much less odour and fewer stones next to the toilet. The cat is very curious and interrupts the cleaning process at least three times each time. But the Whisker always stops reliably. Great device if you have the budget.

We have been using the toilet for a good 6 weeks now and are very enthusiastic about it so far.
So far, we have been favourite users of the PetKits Pura Max.
We will continue to keep them and use them as well. But this is much more practical and cat-friendly. The cats feel they have a lot more space in it and you can clean it easily with a wet wipe if there are any "scuff marks".
It always shows how full the litter bin is and how much litter is left in the litter tray. However, too much fresh litter is disposed of in the waste bin. You should make sure that you really keep to the filling quantity if you don't want to waste too much litter. The app is in German - but the weights are unfortunately not designed for kg. That's not a bad thing in principle, not knowing which cat was just on it (difficult anyway if 2 weigh about the same) but it's a nice gimmick. We use fine sand and it works quite well with the lumps.
What was very important to us was the safety of our animals. If a cat gets on it, it doesn't just keep turning and that works very well. We have two kittens here with us (2kg) and they had or still have fun playing in it regularly when it starts to spin. I was a bit sceptical at first, but the litter tray has really convinced me that it really waits until it can go on.
It's nice and quiet when it's working and even my upright peer hasn't yet managed to cause any nasty accidents in the form of - the drool runs underneath somewhere and stinks....
But if you want less litter in your home, you still have to put a catcher in front of it. If 2 spinners play in there, the litter just flies out. However, if the cats go to the toilet "NORMALLY", I would say that the height of the entrance is sufficient. But basically the toilet does what it should. After each visit to the toilet, everything is tiptop clean afterwards, which is important to our animals. And if you work, it makes your job a lot easier, as you can't keep scooping when the cat has to go. And if they don't get on it when something is on it... you understand.
Overall cleaning is of course a bit more complicated because the thing is quite big and unwieldy. But you soon find out which handle to use to get everything perfectly clean. Other electric toilets were a lot less practical (we've already tested a few).
And if you just want to change the bag, the 55-60 litre rubbish bags that are available to buy from M., among others, also fit in easily. Also a big plus point.
I wouldn't want to give it back and am very happy to have invested the money.

This review was created for a different variant: 4 (Self-cleaning litter tray, Cat litter box closed)
Great litter robot that is also suitable for large cats (in my case Maine Coons with 8.5kg and 9kg).
Most litter robots are only suitable for cats up to approx. 8kg.
