Accepted Answer

I use the scale to weigh small quantities (tea, coffee, spices etc.) because it is accurate to 0.1g up to 500g. For larger quantities or bowls, plates etc. it has too small a contact surface.

a) The scale is made of plastic and is robust enough for kitchen use with small quantities. It does not come with a case. I would not take it with me when travelling. 
b) The scale with batteries weighs 265g. In addition, a 200g weight is included to calibrate the scale.

Answer

I am not thrilled with this scale.
I need it as a kitchen scale and to weigh plate portions.
I would not recommend it!
