For normal odours the filter is sufficient without any problems, a few scraps of fish skin that escaped from the organic waste overcame this odour barrier after a few days...

The waste bin has a charcoal filter in the lid, which reduces odours somewhat, but does not prevent them completely. It seals well and you don't really smell anything outside the bin. Nevertheless, unpleasant odours can occur inside the bin. Unfortunately, I can't say whether the bin is suitable for nappies, as I haven't tried it out.
