I have not noticed this effect with my shoes.

Very good product, I have been using this product mainly for full leather shoes (hiking boots) for years as it has a very good formula. However, I have not noticed this reaction. With black shoes, this can theoretically be the case if the leather colour is oversaturated or the protection is not visible.
