The Bernina 2 is a sturdy yet particularly comfortable full leather trekking shoe that incorporates all the details of the Meindl Comfort fit® concept. Shoes and boots of this design are suitable for people whose midfoot is slightly wider or who desire more space in the toe box. In terms of construction, the Bernina 2 is similar to the Borneo from Meindl. Its seamless upper made of waxed nubuck leather is robust and easy to maintain with wax. The softly closing and angled cuff, the comfortable leather lining, and the natural cork insole ensure an excellent wearing experience and promote a good foot climate—even at higher outside temperatures. Stability and protection against twisting are provided by the Bernina 2 through its pull hooks. The very grippy Vibram® sole Multigrip® 3 Alpin Light prevents slipping even on slippery surfaces. Additionally, it is pre-shaped, allowing for a natural rolling motion despite its torsional rigidity. The Bernina 2 feels right at home in the mid-mountains, and crossing scree fields or slightly exposed, pathless passages is no problem, as the surrounding rock protection edge confidently protects both the shoe and the foot.
