Product details

New version 2020 with completely revised accompanying booklet. The DAV SnowCard is a tool for a quick and easy risk check for avalanche danger. It also helps to structure avalanche-related information when planning tours and in the terrain. Originally developed in 2000 by Martin Engler and Jan Mersch, the DAV SnowCard is now an integral part of the DAV decision-making strategy "Avalanche Mantra" and has proven itself over the years as a decision-making aid on numerous ski and snowshoe tours as well as for freeriding. The aim of the DAV SnowCard is to provide users with realistic information about their personal risk, but it is always up to the individual to decide how much "uncertainty" he or she will accept. Very important in all risk management methods is the awareness that there can never be absolute safety in the high mountains in winter. Avalanches can be triggered from a slope gradient of 20 degrees and can penetrate very far into supposedly safe terrain! Product information: - DAV SnowCard made of waterproof plastic - special prism image on the front and information on the risk check on the back - integrated slope inclinometer with brass pendulum - completely revised instruction and accompanying booklet - transport cover - updated version 2020.
