The sudden extinguishing effect of ABC powder is based on two extinguishing mechanisms: on one hand, the extinguishing powder has an anti-catalytic extinguishing effect. This binds the oxygen radicals needed for combustion in the air, causing the fire to go out. Additionally, the extinguishing powder melts on the hot burning material and forms a so-called sinter layer. This hinders the supply of oxygen and further suffocates the fire.
