1. Insert the battery into the charging slot whose melody you want to change. The last set melody will play briefly.
2. Remove the battery from the charger within five seconds and reinsert it. A new melody will be activated. Each subsequent removal and reinsertion within five seconds will activate the next melody. When the desired melody is active, leave the battery inserted to start the charging process. A short beep will indicate that no melody is played (silent mode).

The set melody remains stored even if the charger is disconnected from the power source. Makita chargers and batteries can also be used with WS24 batteries and chargers.
