With the PolyTribloc, the function can be set to either pressure or key operation before installation. When the door is closed, turning the key in the locking direction extends all three bolts and blocks both the latch and the bolts. Unlocking occurs with a turn of the key in the opening direction, retracting all three bolts. To lock the mechanism with less effort, after a half turn of the key in the locking direction, the locking can be activated with an upward pressure movement. The key then only needs to be turned to the withdrawal position.

With an upward pressure movement, the additional bolts are extended. A turn of the key in the locking direction will extend the main bolt. Thus, the latch and additional bolts are blocked. When the key is turned in the opening direction, the main bolt is retracted. The additional bolts and latch are retracted with a downward pressure movement.
