The ACB 1.8 is a height safety device designed for securing users in aerial work platforms. Its primary function is as a restraint system, providing complete freedom of movement within the basket. In the event of a catapult effect (being thrown out of the basket), the ACB 1.8 catches the user and keeps them inside the basket. With its integrated fall damping, it reacts extremely quickly, minimizing the fall space required.

A steel oval carabiner with a trilock closure and a maximum length of 110 mm must be used at the swivel.

The design features a robust and very lightweight aluminum housing, an extremely durable textile strap that has been edge-tested over two 90° edges (R > 0.5 mm), and an aluminum attack carabiner at the end of the strap for easy handling. The swivel at the housing prevents the strap from twisting.

The device has an energy-absorbing function that limits the force exerted on the human body during a fall to well below 3 kN. It offers the smallest fall distance and can be used in any position without additional means. A fall indicator is also present at the end of the strap. Additionally, it has been tested according to DIN 19427:2017.
