The I-V Curve is a component test probe for 2-channel oscilloscopes with X-Y operation function. In X-Y operation, two-pole components such as semiconductors, capacitors, resistors, RLC networks and the combination of RLC with semiconductors can be checked for their condition. Even the testing of built-in components is possible. The characteristic curve is displayed on the oscilloscope screen in a two-dimensional I-V diagram. Here, the relationship between electrical current (I) and electrical voltage (U) of a two-pole electrical component is shown.
