After a break-in period, bacteria also settle in the material, which contribute to biological pollutant degradation and thus enhance water quality. Therefore, it is suitable not only for filling external filters for aquariums or pond filters but also for constructing a Hamburg mat filter or a filter basin.

The foam mat is washable and therefore reusable multiple times.
