The Jagdpanzer V "Jagdpanther" is the best German tank destroyer of the Second World War. It was designed on the chassis of the famous Panther tank. This enormous vehicle was equipped with an effective and battle-tested 88 mm gun. The destroyer was characterised by very good armour and mobility. Production of the Jagdpanther began in December 1943. By the end of the war, approximately 392 units of this vehicle had been produced. Jagdpanthers were first deployed in Normandy, also fought in the Ardennes and in Germany. They appeared on the Eastern Front in autumn 1944 and successfully fought against Soviet IS-2 tanks!
